Equipment

Our expert installation uses small equipment about the size of a wheelbarrow. The curbing trailer has a small mixer and all the materials to make our concrete. No large concrete trucks are coming to your property.

This way, we guarantee minimal disruption to your cherished landscape. We're here to add beauty to your home, not take it away!

Scheduling & Preparations

We schedule your installation when we receive the deposit outlined in your quote. We are proud of our punctuality and for keeping you informed on schedule adjustments.

When we confirm the day of installation we always ask that you or another contact are at the property when we arrive. This is important to do a final walkthrough of the work planned and answer any questions before we start. The walkthrough includes laying string lines to show you accurately where the edging will be installed. This normally takes 15-20 minutes together.

Maritime Curbing prepares your landscape in each area where we are installing your new edging. Once you agree we paint the string lines with a marker paint to ensure the placement is maintained. Sod is then removed, ground is compacted where required, and debris is removed.

Mixing

Our high quality concrete mixes are mixed on site with agreed colour, and other additives to address our Maritime climate challenges of frost heaves and many freeze thaw cycles. Aside from the industry standard of cement, sand, water our mix also contains fibre and admixtures added to increase the structural integrity of our concrete.

Installation

Our curb machine extrudes concrete edging with steel cable throughout its length, reinforcing stability, especially along steep slopes or driveways, where vertical rebar is also installed to minimize movement. We meticulously hand-trowel, color, stamp, and finish the edging to perfection.

An industrial-grade acrylic sealer is then applied to coloured and stamped concrete, enhancing and preserving the finish.

To conclude, we conduct a final walk-around with you to showcase the completed work, address any queries, and proudly place a Maritime Curbing sign.
